The problem in our society, now a days is that the unskilled minimum wage people are bearly surviving in this bad economy. 1 in 5 federally contracted workers earns less than the poverty level for a family of four. People are bearly survivng in this horrible economy. I believe that the minimum wage in the United States should be at $9.25 an hour, and the underage should be at $8.50. Increasing the minimum wage of the U.S. will help the people survive and it will also help the economy get in better shape. Increasing the minimum wage will help out the econmy get out of it's horrible condition it's in. It will help thousands of people recover from dept and get better living conditions. I found very good comments and observations during the interviews. I found worrying the fact that many people have to have two or three jobs to support their families. That means that these people have very little time to rest or have time for their families. It must be very stressful to have two or more jobs; I wonder how much time these people have to sleep, to relax, or to just watch TV. Families should have time to share and enjoy together, but I don't think these people have the time for some family fun when they need to work more than 40 hours a week by having to jobs. Isn't family the base of society? Mrs. Fuentes said something very interesting, the cost of living is constantly increasing, but the minimum way is not. Many people struggle just to pay their basic needs and bills; this is a reason why our rates of poverty are going up. The increase of the federal minimum wage will not end poverty, but it will certainly help to improve the economy of our country which is very important for the well-being of citizens.
